Climate Live

Climate Live

Climate live is a global movement of young people all over the globe using different entertainment platforms like Art, Music, Dance, and drama to create awareness and information about climate crisis emergency which is a global issue that concerns everyone since a lot of people are less concerned about environmental responsibility and most of the people are less concerned because they are not informed.

The founder of Climate live is based in the UK and her name is Frances Fox who works with  organizers from more than 40 countries to organize the events, In Uganda we organized our first event which was on 21st April 2021and the second event was on October 16th 2021.

The theme of 2021 is “Can you hear us Yet?” and in this theme we are calling upon policy makers and leaders all over the world to amend polices that are in favor of our climate, to treat climate crisis as an emergency since most leaders have not bothered when environmental destruction is ongoing on a daily.

In partnership with Vanessa Nakate from the Rise Up Movement our first climate live event was organized at Baptist High School in Kitebi Nyanama. This event was successful and through music dance and drama we reached out to over 500 students with relevant information about environmental responsibility the event was online on all our social media handles @climateliveuganda and we hope to prepare another event on 16th October 2021,more information can be found on our social medial handle Climate Live Uganda and also the main website https://climatelive.org/

The second event was organised in october 23rd 2021 and we had artists from Uganda like Babaluku the legend of hiphop music in Uganda, St. Nellysade, Sisa MC, Hid 16th and also the blue note band which was a success with climate activists and speakers like Mollen Kenyana (Weather forecast presenter at UBC Uganda) Nyombi Morris a climate justice activist rom the rise up movement, Namugewa Leah a climate justice activist from Fridays for future Uganda and also Destin Sempijja The founder of cherish aid foundation
